Frequently asked questions
- Will Bannerfly slow down my storefront?
- No. The bar is a Shopify theme app extension — a lightweight Liquid block with a tiny deferred JS file. There are no iframes and no third-party scripts loaded on page render.
- Can I use my own font?
- Yes. You can choose from 19 Google Fonts (Inter, Montserrat, Poppins, Playfair Display, and more) or stick with your theme's default font.
- Does it replace my theme's built-in announcement bar?
- Optionally. There is a "Hide default announcement bar" toggle in the block settings if you want to replace your theme bar entirely.
- Can I make the bar clickable?
- Yes. Enable the click action setting, paste your URL, and choose whether it opens in the same tab or a new tab. The whole bar becomes a link.
- How do I change the background?
- Open the Theme Editor, select the Bannerfly block, and choose a background style: solid color, gradient (with angle control), holiday pattern, country flag, or a custom image URL.
- Is it free?
- Bannerfly is free to install. Check the Shopify App Store listing for the current plan details.
